How is Exact Age Calculated?
Exact age calculation counts the number of complete years, then remaining months, then remaining days between your date of birth and the reference date (today by default). This is the same method used by Indian government documents, passports, and legal systems.
Age for Government Documents in India
Different Indian government systems count age differently. UPSC Civil Services counts age as of 1st August of the examination year. SSC exams use 1st August or 1st January depending on the notification. Passport applications use exact age on date of application.
